Favorite Place

My favorite place that I have been in America is probably when I stayed in Hood River, Oregon. We had the prettiest little house, and a whole bunch of land. There was a pond right next to the house and there were baby ducklings in it! There were weeping willows and it was overall a very beautiful spot. I didn't like it that my parents made me go hiking every day though >_> Haha but besides that it was a really great place.

Terrorist Attacks

America does suffer from terrorist attacks. Two very publicized ones were the bombings of the twin Towers on September 11 of 2001, and the Oklahoma city bombings in 1995. America has terrorist attacks, but I know that compared to many countries we have been fairly fortunate. Places such as England receive very many attacks and people have to go along with their daily lives. NOT saying that the attacks in America should be given ANY less attention or that they weren't horrific tragedies (just in case, because if I didn't write that someone would've said that I am insensitive.)

Immigrants in America

I think that on the whole, immigrants are very good for our country. Yes, a percentage of immigrants are illegal, but that doesn't mean that all immigrants are bad. Many immigrants help our economy greatly by taking many jobs. Being an immigrant myself (although I was kinda young then) I think that the people that say that all immigrants are slobs and that they our hurting our economy are very mistaken. I also enjoy living in a place with so much diversity.

Anderson High School

Anderson is a place full of diversity.  There are many different ethnicities and social groups, and plenty of people mingling between these.  There are the obvious cliques that I think all schools have in them, but there are lots of different ones.  Some of these cliques are very exclusive and don't let people hang out with them who aren't "cool" enough, but there are many more interesting people who are always interested in meeting new people.  I think over all it is a very diverse school.

Naomi's Summer

This recent summer was somewhat interesting. I saw my friends a whole lot more than I did last summer, which was a plus. Also, I went on my family's annual trip to England to visit my relatives. I think the worst part of my summer was when I went to my friend's party celebrating the 4th of July and his demonic little brother named Scott threw a CD at me and it hit me in the eye. I had a cut on my eye and on my nose for several weeks. Besides these things I made some new friends, lost some old ones, but overall had a good time. I did not do any camps this summer, but my parents made me go swimming almost every day.

Hi, my name is Naomi Rolls. I am 14 years old, and I am a freshman at Anderson High School (this blog is for our Pre-AP geography class). I'd like to think that I'm a friendly person overall. I really like listening to music (although I dislike country and rap), and my favorites bands include (but are not limited to) Linkin Park, System of a Down, Three Days Grace, and lots of alternative bands. I like to read a LOT. I have so many favorite books, I won't list them all because you will be bored to tears. I'm a very fast reader. I also like to draw, and I've been playing piano since I was 4 years old. My parents make me go swimming a lot for exercise, but I don't really enjoy it. I was born in England but I moved to Texas when I was 1 and 1/2 so I don't remember living there. All of my family lives in England though, so I visit them every year. I don't have a LOT of friends, but the friends I do have are the best. Austin is a great city to live in.
